Pink was a feeling
Acrylic and red cedar on board | 70cm x 60cm x6cm |
Pink Was a Feeling sits within my Tonality of Home series, using layered colour and material shifts to hold the sense of something remembered rather than clearly seen. A scalloped piece of western red cedar anchors the composition, bringing a warm, architectural curve that hints at domestic forms without becoming one. The surface is built through repeated layers of paint, sanding, and reworking, allowing earlier colours to peek through in small, unexpected ways. The piece holds that mix of structure and softness, where colour becomes a kind of emotional residue rather than a description.
