This painting draws from time spent in the bush, where light shifts quickly and forms are only partly held. The work sits between observation and abstraction, built through layers of paint that are added, removed and reworked until the image settles. Colour drifts, details fade in and out, and the structure of the landscape becomes something felt rather than fixed, shaped by the way certain places stay with me
