Fragments of a beach day

This work reflects the colour and rhythm of beach days I remember from the 1980s, where everything felt bright, loose and slightly improvised. Strips of painted colour and collaged elements sit together on canvas and board, with an encaustic wax finish softening the surface and holding the layers in place. Shapes hint at umbrellas, towels and the movement of people without naming them, letting the image sit between abstraction and memory.
